Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted with domainfactory (cPanel hosting). Every time you access it, the server automatically records access data in log files: IP address, time of access and the page requested. This data is used to keep the website secure and stable (error analysis, detection of misuse) and is deleted automatically after a short period. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a functional and secure website, Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

No cookies, no tracking

This website does not use cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking tools. I do not evaluate your usage behaviour. The language-version notice banner stores a purely functional flag in your browser's localStorage when you dismiss it, so it is not shown again; this information is not transmitted anywhere.

Fonts

Fonts are served locally from my own server (self-hosted). No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external font service.

Chat "Ask Sebastian"

If you use the chat on this website, your input is transmitted to OpenRouter (OpenRouter, Inc., USA) and the AI model selected there in order to generate an answer. Beyond this transmission, I do not store the content of your chat inputs. Please do not enter any personal or confidential data into the chat. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in offering a functioning, direct way to answer questions, Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

To prevent misuse, I keep a short-lived, anonymised counter based on a hashed IP address. This counter is deleted automatically after up to 24 hours.

Booking an appointment via Cal.com

For appointment booking I optionally offer a calendar provided by Cal.com. This calendar is only loaded once you actively click "Schedule a meeting" or "Book an intro call". No data is sent to Cal.com before that. If you use the calendar, Cal.com's own privacy notices apply. When booking an appointment, you transmit the chosen date and time as well as your name and e-mail address to Cal.com.

Contact by e-mail

If you contact me by e-mail, I process the data you provide in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to entering into a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).

Your rights

You have the right to access the data I process about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR), to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For Bavaria, this is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
